The Darkening Lands (The Seven Kingdoms – 1) by Harry Sherwin
For the first time in over a thousand years the Seven Kingdoms of Justava are at peace with each other. As age old tensions melt away, the people are able to rest easily in their homes, safe in the knowledge that war will trouble them no longer. But a new power is growing in the heart of Justava, an unseen malice that threatens to destroy the fragile peace and throw Justava back into chaos and war. With the evil Necromancer Empire spreading to every corner of the Seven Kingdoms, it falls upon two young elves who lost everything to this new evil to make a stand. Together, Brenik and Nalia must overcome age old prejudices and travel deep into the wilds of Justava in order to raise their banner and ignite the fires of rebellion.

Authors Bio
When I was growing up I had always thought that I wanted to work in medicine like my dad and my brothers but in 2012, when the stress of exams was finally over, I realised that I had made a mistake.
It all began on a beach in Florida. I had finished my book, watched my newest film and I was bored. With nothing else to do, I picked up a pencil and began to write. It was the best thing I have ever done. I spent the rest of the Summer working on my novel, and I knew that I found the career that I wanted to pursue.
When we came back to England, I went straight to AuthorHouse to begin the long but fulfilling road of self-publishing and within a year I had my first novel published, despite having to contend with exams at the same time I might add!
I have loved every minute of my career and currently I am working on the second novel in the Seven Kingdoms series. I hope you enjoy my work and feel free to drop me a line at any time.
My Review
5 stars
The kingdoms of Justava are finally united and barely hanging on to peace. But the Necromancer doesn’t want this and builds an army to take over. Brenik and Nalia are two elves that have lost everything except each other. It will be up to them to get everyone ready to fight the Necromancer.
I really enjoyed this story. Brenik and Nalia has lost everything but it is up to them to work past prejudice and such to fight the Necromancer. It sucks that they were betrayed but that just encouraged them to fight back.
There were a lot of characters but I didn’t have trouble following along. What really impressed me was the age of the author. He definitely has a lot of potential for future stories. This is an epic fantasy story that did leave an opening for another book. I will be on the lookout for that book.
If you are looking for a new fantasy story, look no further. I recommend checking out The Darkening Lands.
I received The Darkening Lands for free ages ago. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
