Tainted Tears (Tattoos with a Bite – 2) by Tiffany Flowers
What if the monsters you should fear are not the ones that lurk in the dark but the ones that walk in the light?
Sam has a smart mouth and a sassy attitude. She is thrust into a world where not everything is what it seems. Things that go bump in the night make bangs in the day.
Ryan, a tattoo artist, seeks solitude in order to keep his secret safe, that is, until he meets a beautiful blonde and he risks losing the control over his world to save her.
Can they get past the secrets and lies or will they drown in a pool of Tainted Tears?
Pleasure brings pain. Pain brings tears. And oh, how the Tainted Tears fall.

Excerpts
After he finishes, he slides in the driver’s seat and cranks it up. Instead of putting it in gear and taking off, he holds his hand out to me, with a candy bar in it. I lift my eyebrows and turn my head to the side, trying to figure out what he is up to.
“Vampires have a great sense of smell,” he tells me, as if that should tell me what he is doing. I widen my eyes, trying to figure this out. He clears his throat. “I can smell your monthly coming.”
My face turns hot and my lips squeeze together. “Well, if that isn’t fucking perfect.” I place my head in my hands, propping my elbows on my knees.
“Sorry, this was a peace offering. I didn’t want you to murder me in my sleep. The last time Kaylee was on hers, she tried to stab me for eating the last piece of bacon… After she told me I could have it.”
I laugh into my hands. “That sounds like her,” I mumble. “Just stay away and throw chocolate at me. Make sure I have a heating pad and a couple chic flicks. Also, maybe a few pieces of bacon and I’ll be good.”
I hear him huff a laugh before the truck starts moving. I reach over and turn the music back up before leaning back and closing my eyes.

All the groceries are put away, so I decide I am going to take a long hot bubble bath. I relax until the water starts to get cold, but instead of getting out, I let some water out and put hot back in. I lean back again and start to close my eyes when something hits the water and splashes me. I look down to a chocolate bar.
“Bad timing? You didn’t really tell me how many and what times to throw the candy at you, so I guessed.” Ryan’s amused voice comes from behind me. I snarl. Yes, fucking snarl. “I am going to say, by that tone, I guessed wrong. Okay, I’ll try again later.” I hear his footsteps retreat and laugh. This is going to be fun, NOT! I grab the candy bar and snatch it open, shoving the whole thing in my mouth. Bastard… But it tastes so good. I lay back and close my eyes, praying God gives me patience this week.
