My Review
4 stars
Antonio de la Vega is an attorney in Mexico that is going about his day until a strange older man, Harry Friedman approaches him and tells him he looks like the SS officer that killed his family. Antonio knows nothing about his family since it has only been his mother and him. But he goes on the hunt to find out the truth about his father.
Once I read the synopsis of this story, I was really curious to see what was going to happen in this story. There is a lot of emotion all the way around. How can you not have feelings for Harry and the horror that he went through and to know that the person that killed his family got away. As for Antonio, I can’t fault him for wanting to find out who his father is. Even without Harry’s story I would be curious to know who my father was if I was in his place. But then to learn that he may have been a SS officer, of course he would be on the hunt for the truth.
This is an amazing story filled with a lot of emotion. It is rich with history from World War II but it will appeal to everyone. This is on book worth checking out.
I received In the Shadow of a Stranger from Candid Book Reviews for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
