Sawyer is now a Carbon and on a ship to the United Isles to find out more about being a Carbon and how to possibly break her bond with Coleman. She is with Max but she wants nothing to do with him, she would rather morn her loss of friends and family and to figure out how to get her revenge on Coleman. It’s coming down to a battle for humanity and Sawyer is going to be the key.
First, I want to say that Carbon jumps right into the story we left at the end of Watcher. I don’t recommend reading this as a stand-alone story, you can but you will miss a lot of the background. I have to say that I noticed that even though Watcher was packed full of action. Carbon started out a lot slower and with more development of Sawyer and her situation.
I did like how Sawyer slowly started getting closer to Max. He was just trying to help her adapt to her new life. Although I’m not a big fan of love triangles I like how it is developing and how it highlights the story instead of hijacking it. Now the second half of the book took off, had some great twists and turns, and came to a crashing, cliff hanger of an ending. Although I liked Watcher more, I did enjoy Carbon and now I can’t wait for the third book.
I received Carbon from iRead Book Tours for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
