The Haunting of Dove Cote House
(Cat Fletcher ParaInvestigations – 1)
By Rachel Jordan
Paranormal
Cat Fletcher grew up at Dove Cote. But when she turned eighteen and left for school she has not been back since at her parent’s insistence, even when her mother got sick. But with the passing of her father, she finds herself back at the home that she can’t remember anything about. The more time she spends there, the more memories start coming back. But when a ghostly lady appears, it is clear there is more happening at Dove Cote than she can remember.
Cat teams up with her old friend Robbie, a couple of priests, and her husband. They all work together to solve the mystery of the woman ghost, why she thinks Cat is her daughter, and why she plans of reminding Cat what happens when you disobey your mother. But they have help from a young girl ghost that is trying everything to help Cat.
Cat has her hands full when she learns that he childhood home was no exactly wonderful. But she can’t remember why. Thankfully Robbie is there to help her with his paranormal investigations. But there is more history to Dove Cote and they will have to rely on a couple priests to access the full story. When a story about Cat is trying to be sold at the local papers in London, Cat’s husband steps up to defend her honor and finds himself unemployed and out helping her with this mystery.
A mother’s inability to have a child, the church refusing to let her bury her dead child in consecrated ground, witchcraft, and a haunting keep this story flowing. I enjoyed this story and think it is a great start to the series. I can’t wait to see where Cat finds herself in the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
