My Review
4 stars
Most people have horrible health today. Almost everyone is taking one prescription or another usually to treat these health conditions. But then they have side effects and have to go on another pill for these and still not have the first problem cured. Roberto Tostado, MD talks about how the pharmaceutical representatives would buy him dinners and such to get him to prescribe their pills. He also talks about how modern medicine focuses on curing an ailment but not the whole body.
He goes on to discuss how treating the symptom is not going to heal the person, they need to figure out what the real problem is, diet. We eat a ton of fast food and over processed packaged food that is not healthy for us. I admit that I’m one of those people. It’s easy to grab a frozen dinner or burger for lunch than it is to plan out and meal prep for a week. But all that we are doing is putting crap into our bodies. Do you wonder why were are in the shape we are in?
But it’s not just that. Our mind controls our bodies. What emotional baggage are we carrying around that is also adding to the inches on our waist? You’ve hear of comfort eating? Here is a great example. So until we can start working on these issues also we will still have a one ton weight around our necks dragging us down.
This is a great book and straight to the point when it says “Stop F**king Around.” It’s hard but to the point. You can’t improve until you get serious about your health. There is a lot of information about how we are sabotaging ourselves and keeping in the same rut. If you are serious about getting healthy this book is a great start. I just was expecting to have a little more about how we can improve our health instead of what is wrong with it. But I will be looking for more information to improve my own health.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
I would like to thank Sherri Rosen Publicity for the opportunity to read and share this book.
I’ve seen many books like this one. I have since changed my diet and many of the things I take prescription medications for are not helped by food.
It is a good concept but I admit that I would have a hard time with the detox diet. I worked with an acupuncturist years ago and learned that i need a high protein, high fat diet. I felt amazing so this diet wouldn’t be as effective for me. I really like the no nonsense approach to why we need to start paying attention to what we eat and other things that are affecting our health instead of instant diets and the crap food.
I got rid of fast foods and processed foods years ago. I eat some Candy, ice cream. But really I eat healthy now. The depression I just had helped me gain a bunch of weight. So now I have to exercise a lot.
