About the Author

I enjoy reading books on psychic phenomena and all things metaphysical. Most of my life I’ve been fascinated with astral travel, dreams, the ability to see the future, and reincarnation.

I’ve wanted to write a book since I was a child, it was the first thing I can ever remember saying I wanted to do when I grow up. I love creating worlds in my mind and writing about them. My best days are when my characters decide to have lively conversations and I type them fast and furious.

Nina has issues and is afraid to love after her past. Luke is determined to break through her shell and they realize that they are starting to love each other. Enter Elliot, someone that had a relationship with Nina in the past. He has to stir things up and is looking for a magical item that Nina has. Then Luke gets sent to a dark and hellish dimension where his is on trial for killing Nina. Nina is desperate to find Luke and goes on the hunt with her astral projection.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Nina and Luke start as friends with benefits but become so much more. But things won’t stay happy for long when jealousy and revenge are determined to come crashing into their lives. They each of their own versions of hell to deal with but both are determined to keep fighting to get back to each other.

This series is filled with good, bad, love, hate, magic, and so much more. I love the fresh take on magic and the power of love. This book says that you can read it as a standalone but I recommend checking out the series in order. You won’t miss anything that way.

Praise for A Matter of Latitude

“A Matter of Latitude simmers with danger, betrayal and treachery, drawing the reader into the island’s history of shady dealings and uneasy relationships between natives, tourists and expats… Isobel Blackthorn has crafted an atmospheric and setting-rich novel with alluring lyrical style.” – Sandi Wallace, award-winning crime fiction author

About the Author

Isobel Blackthorn is a prolific novelist of original fiction across a range of genres, including psychological thrillers, gripping mysteries, captivating travel fiction and hilarious dark satire.

Isobel holds a PhD in Western Esotericism for her ground-breaking study of the texts of Theosophist Alice A. Bailey. Her engagement with Alice Bailey’s life and works has culminated in the biographical novel, The Unlikely Occultist.

Isobel carries a lifelong passion for the Canary Islands, Spain, her former home. Many of her novels are set on the islands, including The Drago Tree, which was released in 2015 and is now in Spanish translation, Clarissa’s Warning and A Matter of Latitude. These novels are setting rich and fall into the broad genre of travel fiction, and the novels are as much stories about the islands themselves as they are straight-ahead entertainment.

Isobel has led a rich and interesting life and her stories are as diverse as her experiences, the highs and lows, and the dramas. Some of her writing is dark, like the psychological thriller, Twerk, which is based on six years of research and first-hand accounts of dancers working in what are euphemistically called gentlemen’s clubs.

A life-long campaigner for social justice, Isobel has written, protested and leant her weight to a range of issues including family violence. A Londoner originally, Isobel currently lives near Melbourne, Australia.

Paula is getting ready for her daughters third birthday when her husband Celestino is called out on a delivery. Although she would rather have him at the party she does realize how important the money from this delivery to them. But when he doesn’t show up to the party she becomes worried. She doesn’t really know how to report Celestino to the police but she knows something is wrong.

Celestino is an anti-corruption activist and when he is t-boned on his delivery he just knows that someone is trying to kill him. Now it’s a race against time and the killer for Celestino to get to safety and to keep Paula and their daughter safe. He is having some serious regrets about not telling Paula how dangerous things really are.

Paula is still struggling with Spanish and feels lost at times on Lanzarote. She just knew that something had happened to Celestino and I felt for her trying to find him. At the same time I was kept on the edge of my seat as Celestino was fighting to keep out of the hands of the murderer. I was wrapped up in him getting home in time to protect his family.

I read and really enjoyed Clarissa’s warning and was very excited to see what Isobel Blacktorn would come up with next. I was ensnared by this mystery and kept guessing until the very end. I really enjoy Isobel’s books and can’t wait to dig into another one soon.
