Keeper of the Dragon’s Tears is the third novel in author Tamara H. Hartl’s award winning series, Knights of Kismera. She has also penned the short story “The Lady’s Profit,” featured in the anthology, Short Stories by Texas Authors.
Magdalene Shaffer, Maggie, is in Egypt looking for a hidden god. She is on a privately funded dig when the museum she is working with decides that she has not made enough progress and decides to send in Ted, her abusive ex. Maggie decides to go looking in the tomb late at night and discovers dragon tears. But her ex finds her and starts to beat on her again. Maggie calls on the help of Arahtok to help her.
Cearan discovers Maggie hiding in his caravan. He is drawn to her yet is worried about her knowledge of those around him. The longer they are together, Cearan comes to love Maggie. But when she is kidnapped, the power of his lion will show how far he will go to protect those they love.
This is the first book in the Knights of Kismera series that I have read. Although having a background might have helped as I read this one, it was not necessary. I had no trouble following along as Maggie and Cearan traveled the trouble in this book. Maggie is such a sweet and strong woman. I was cheering for her the whole way. Cearan is the handsome, strong werre that comes to care for Maggie deeply.
This is a great paranormal romance. You have a little bit of everything with the Egyptology, magical land, lion shifters, action and adventure, and steamy sex to round it all out. I loved this book and recommend checking it out. I can’t wait to go back and see what I have missed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
